In the past, I was one of those who argued strongly *against* splitting
the list. I has always been my experience that a single list exposes me
to ideas and plans that I would otherwise have missed.
However, I am now forced to agree that many of the posts on the list
would be quite intimidating to a new user -- one who might get the
impression that you need to be well versed in PHP to use PmWiki. The
reason I can be so certain is that I find *myself* intimidated by many
of the very detailed discussions of PmWiki internals.
Having a -users and a -devel list would be a big help. I would subscribe
to both and I would always read -users, but I might save -devel posts
for a rainy day. ;-)
A side note: I have been traveling a lot lately, and I had to install a
mail filter to move pmwiki-users posts into a separate folder so that my
web mail in box was not swamped. It was getting difficult to see the
non-pmwiki emails.
