In which way the edit password is set?

Globaly via local/config.php
$DefaultPasswords['edit'] = crypt('mypass');

or individual via
 http://<server name>/pmwiki.php?n=MyFriends.GroupAttributes?action=attr


If the second way was gone the problem is clear.
Your edit password only set to different groups (like MyFriends) but
not to the (new) group JoeD
