To me, the existing version looks&feels mature and stable enough to be
called 1.0 - so I would be happy to go with #1.
It would underline more clearly that the new PmWiki is very different not
just in feature set but core coding and backend (adding DB capability
etc.).
Just my completely off-the-cuff response ...
