Both (:comment:) and (:keywords:) markups should be searchable,
so there must be something else happening here.

If the <meta> tag isn't being generated into the html code
for (:keywords:), then that would indicate something odd is
definitely happening.  

What version of PmWiki?  And perhaps you could create a test
page on pmwiki.org to see if it works there?
