Looks like the issue of searchresults is a big one that may take some
time to be resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

In the meantime, I thought you might find the following helpful.

1. You can always specify an available format in the search box, for
example,

Search: fmt=#simple macintosh

2. While the fmt=#teasers is not generally available, because it is not
included in the distributed Site/PageListTemplates page, it is included
in the Cookbook/PagelistTemplateSamples page. Since PmWiki will now
look for formats on the current page, you can run your teasers
formatted search from the Cookbook/PagelistTemplateSamples page, like
this:

Search: fmt=#teasers macintosh

Of course, you aren't limited to starting your search from that
particular page; you can start from any page that contains the format
that you want to use. Thus, for example, you can gather the sample
formats you like best and add them to your profile page and then use
that as the starting point for your searches. In fact, if the page you
use specifies the format that you prefer (via searchresults, or
searchbox), you won't have to manually add it to your search box input.

3. As for the specific term you were searching for, I understand your
frustration. Searching for directives, such as (:title:) and
(), is maddening because they are used in so many pages. That
is one of the reasons why I started the PmWiki/MarkupCharacters
documentation page, to make it easier to locate documentation about
different types of markup by looking up the common characters being
used, such as "(:" and ":)"

4. If you were looking for examples of the actual titles that were being
used on pages, I would just specify fmt=#title. But if you are looking
for documentation about other types of directives that are similar to
the title directive, I would just go directly to PmWiki/PageDirectives.
