Hmm, it looks like your server returns a 404 whenever you try to
access a wiki page that doesn't exist, is that correct?  So there's no
default page text, just a 404 error?  That is probably the problem,
because the page it tries to access doesn't actually exist until
someone creates a comment.  The comment box is actually in the
GroupFooter.  My guess is you need to be able to allow the use of
default text for the PostComments group so that it's okay to browse to
a page that doesn't exist.

Any ideas how to do that?  This is a fresh install of pmwiki as of Saturday night, and I haven't had this problem on the same server with non-existent pages in earlier releases, so I assume something got tweaked in pmwiki.php's handling of defaults.
