I think the concern is that GA is essentially a marketing tool used by
one of the emerging monolythic web companies. I mean, they're touted
as the Microsoft killer. Although, "they" also said the New Kids on
the Block were the new Beatles. As a marketing tool, it eventually
feeds Google's machine. So, the anti-commercial side wants to keep the
software "real." :-)

Or, another way of looking at it, as a political critter, is that by
not supporting any one company in the core, PmWiki invites all to
participate. (Although, PHP is owned by Zend, IIRC.)
