Many thanks to  the following for the info on AddPageForm.... it worked slick... Wish everything was that easy!

One insert into the local config.php and a simple markup addition and it works.  Please don't weigh this down with "features".
It is fine as it is.  You just have to know to specify the group name.    FireFox even prompts me under the entry field with a list of things I've already typed in.  It works nicely to grab a page to edit that way.

Just the ticket for us dumb newbies.... Thanks guys... don't know why I didn't find this the first time around.  I have noted that the cookbook page that warns about the wrong version of the cookbook also dumps you into that old version when you do a search... at least it seems that way.
