Yeah, I had to disable it briefly.  The [abbr|abbreviation] markup causes
all sorts of problems if it's performed before [[...]] links, so it
would need to go either ">links" or ">block".  I set it up on the test
page as ">block" and things seem to be working now (but we certainly
need more tests).

Please do.  I'll want to play with it a bit more before releasing it
but it looks promising so far.
