On North American style keyboards you can achieve this by entering
ALT-0171 (  ?  ) or ALT-0187 ( ? ).

You must use the numeric keypad on the right-side of your keyboard for
it to work (The regular numbers 1!, 2@, 3# 4$ 5% 6^ etc .. won't work).
