I am not sure wether I like the multiple versions that do the same or
not. This makes it a little more complicated for editors, because some
will start using "lines=10" and some "lines=..10" and wonder what the
first version does.

May I suggest to decide for one of the versions? (I'd go for "..10" as
this looks more clear to me)
