History of Parrot
- In 2000, the Perl community decided it was time to rewrite Perl
- Over the next several years, the community began working on the design of Perl 6
- We're still working on Perl 6, and making good progress
- Rakudo Perl 6: 22 monthly releases since January 2008
- April 2010: Major Perl 6 release ("Rakudo Star")
- ... but I'm really not here to talk about Perl 6...
