I have no problem with the notion of updating the list.

Uploads to PmWiki aren't used strictly for display on the web; many
places (e.g. educational institutions) use PmWiki as a library/
archive of shared files.  Thus .bmp and .wav should be kept, if only
because they're a very common file format (even if they aren't
a common *web* format).

I don't believe PmWiki should require transcoding to be used as
a storage system.

.odg and .epub +1

Before adding any of the above to the defaults, let's be 
careful/certain that they don't add increased security risks.
