Unfortunately I now see that this approach is not perfect. If a visitor types 
something in the search box, then clicks out of it, or moves away with Tab, 
the background picture reappears under the typed text. In most cases, the 
visitor will simply press Enter or click on the Search button, so this 
wouldn't be a problem, but if (s)he doesn't, the serch box may look weird.
