[pmwiki-users] Pagelists not seeing categories in certain conditionals

I notice that when I put on a page a category link that is hidden by (:if false:), I can see the page in pagelists such as (:pagelist fmt=simple link=Category.MyCategory:). However, if I change the conditional to (:if1 false:) the page disappears from the list. 

Is this the expected behavior or a bug?
