I checked these recipes before I asked.

Text2Tbl and Tabulate convert plain text and therefore definitely
can't do exactly what I asked for (keep alignment), because the plain
text doesn't contain the alingment information anymore. Both can make
_whole columns_ centered or right aligned by adding special markup.

ExcelPaste even doesn't support manual setting as far as I see.
