Yes, this fault is very annoying, as it entirely blocks - "kills" - the 
site.
And thus makes totalcounter useless for production sites.
Until the fault is removed, there should be a warning in the Cookbook, 
with advice NOT to use totalcounter for anything but testing purposes.
