quick response on this:
The latest extract.php from
http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/TextExtract
allows exactly that. One does not need a fox form, but can just use
markup

(:extract ... :)

(:extractresults:)

which creates a search form and  a place to show the search result.
