I didn't notice anybody else answering this, so I'll take a shot, but
unfortunately I don't have any good news.

I also tried FCKeditor and discovered it just didn't work effectively.
 Since then I've periodically reviewed any comments in the PITS
entries to see if anybody has come up with anything.  I think having a
GUI editor would be a wonderful addition to pmwiki but I don't think
that it exists at this point.  See
