[pmwiki-users] Notify not working

I run into a problem on a wiki with v.2.2.0-beta63:
Email notification with $EnableNotify = 1;  is enabled,
but I don't get any output.

How can I check that NotifyUpdate is called and running?
NotifyCheck and PostNotify seem to run fine.
