[pmwiki-users] Question about StopWatch usage

Recent emails have suggested to enable/display PmWiki's stop watch
function by doing (if one only wants the wall time):

$EnableDiag = 1;
$EnableStopWatch = 1;
$HTMLFooterFmt['stopwatch'] = 'function:StopWatchHTML 1';

The documentation at http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/PmWiki/DebugVariables
says:

The timings can be displayed by adding <!--function:StopWatch--> in the
wiki template.

As far as I can tell, the correct thing to add in the wiki template is:

<!--function:StopWatchHTML X-->

where "X" can be anything but "0" (zero), space, or nil.

I've just tested the $HTMLFooterFmt, and it behaves the same way, i.e.
anything but zero, space, or nil results in (the same) output in the
footer.

Is the documentation simply out of date and it's ok if I fix it?

Why would I ever want to put zero, space, or nil there?

Unless there is a good reason to ever put zero, space, or nil there,
why have that "argument" at all?

Whenever a theory appears to you as the only possible one,
take this as a sign that you have neither understood the theory
nor the problem which it was intended to solve. -- Karl Popper

I have no control over anything that appears after this sentence.
