Below is an excerpt from an email I received from someone about the
rename command in ZAP. It triggered something I've been wanting to
add along the way, but haven't gotten around to. Maybe now is the
time. Here's the cut and paste of his question and my response:

>> I haven't looked into the ZAPfiles module much because I don't know
>> that I have a use for it... but is it theoretically possible to use that
>> module to un-delete deleted pages? The wiki won't touch them because
>> they have commas in their names. If ZAPfiles can access and rename
>> them, that could be very useful!

>Yes, it is possible, and I've thought about adding that, just haven't
worked out the >details. Currently rename *might* do it 'as is' if
you knew the exact timestamp, >but haven't really tried. What I
really need is a restore command will look for the >pages matching a
certain pattern and then restore that page. Perhaps more
>problematic, it would also have to decide what to do when there's
more than one >deleted version of a pages. I could do the most recent,
but what if I wanted a >choice of the versions? What would be really
nice would be a way to generate a >pagelist of deleted pages, in which
case I could select one to restore. I may post >to the list and see
if they have any suggestions for this...

So I decided to go ahead and post to see if I could get some feedback.
 Here's a couple questions:

1) Is there any way built in to PmWiki to restore deleted pages?
2) Is there any way to include deleted pages in a pagelist?
3) Should zap only restore the most recent page or give a choice?

I suppose one could create a markup of some sort that creates a
pulldown list of deleted pages by date, from which you could select
one and combine with a restore command. Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Dan
