Sounds like you're running into the preformat-whitespace scenario.
If your email has any whitespace (tabs or spaces) at the beginning of a
line, that line is taken to be preformatted text, and in the HTML, will
be wrapped in a <pre> tag.  Preformatted text is not wrapped.
Is the text displayed in a monospaced font (such as Courier)?
What does the HTML look like?  (Do a "view source" of the page)
 
If you are having a problem with whitespace, go through and remove any
spaces from the start of the lines, after you've pasted it into your
PmWiki edit form.  That should fix it up.
