ok, I can change it with something like ...

hr {
color: #cccccc;
height: 10px;
}

whatever I'm doing, I still have an additional 1px black line at the bottom 
of my line (kind of shadow), ...
both IE & FireFox render the same.

I have tried to play with
border-color:white;
border-style:none;

=> no way to remove this 1px bottom line, ...

Any clue ?
