We create a link of the form 
  ...index.php?n=Group.Page?field=FieldA?action=edit
and the field= causes the local farm customisation to set wiki.d
to FieldA's wiki.d -- I *think* we are OK.

That's one of the reasons we didn't just use intermap links.
