Just out of curiosity: why do the modifications made by the
VerySimpleToDo recipe
http://pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/VerySimpleToDo
to pages is not "detected" by notify.php?

They *are* real contents modification (you can both write and delete).
They appear on the history of the page.
Nevertheles (at least on my install) they do not generate a notification.

Nothing important, just curious.
