[pmwiki-users] Alternative ordered/unordered list syntax supported?

By accident I found that

* first level
  * second level
  * second level
* first level

gives the same result as

* first level
** second level
** second level
* first level

I like it. IMHO, the first syntax is more readable in page source and
also more intuitive for beginners. Since I haven't found a word about
this syntax I want to ask if it is officially supported.
