A question: Are you talking about a alternative system to AuthUser or a 
formbased interface for AuthUser. The current UserAuth system is 
diffrent. I used it bevor. But I changed cause I did need functionality 
to show/hide templatesections, that didnt work with UserAuth. IMO it 
would be nice if AuthUser would be compatible to AuthUser but have a 
more friendly interface, and all the features you talk aubout above
