Yes, but are they easy to install and run from a jump drive?  

Also, a lot of businesses won't allow employees to install webserver
software like Apache on their desktops -- it's too big a security risk.

Keep in mind that the standalone server is really intended to be very small
and simple -- for example, it can't handle wikifarms (although we
could see about changing that if it's really important), and it doesn't
know anything about index.php files or directory listings or the like.
It just knows what it needs to know to handle PmWiki requests, and
to be able to do it from an external media such as a CD-ROM or
a flash disk.

That said, if the standalone server isn't working, I'd like to hear
about it because it's worth fixing and the fix will generally be pretty
simple.
