[pmwiki-users] Troubleshooting help - flock and passwords

After weeks of working really well, my pmwiki powered wiki has all of a
sudden developed two problems:

1) Whenever I do anything that needs to be authorized (post an edit to a
page, view a protected page, use "commentbox" to add to a page), I get
an error about not being able to acquire a lock.

2) My password seems to be forgotten all of the time. Everytime it needs
to check to see if its me, it asks for my passwords again.

Both of these are covered in the troubleshooting FAQ, but the solutions
there don't work:

- I did delete the .flock file
- Cookies are enabled in my browser / PHP is configured for sessions,
and there is a default place to save it in session.save_path (I can't
actually check that directory on the server, since I don't have access
to local file system of the server)

What's really bizarre is that everything worked great yesterday. (I have
only had commentbox for a week, but the overall wiki installation has
been working well for about a month).

These might be two unrelated problems, or possibly the failure of #2
caused the failure #1 (it started happening first)

If it matters, I am using AuthUser, clean urls (via mod_rewrite),
commentbox, and a few other smaller things that shouldn't matter
(skinchange,show/hide,...)

Any help or advice is most appreciated.
