[pmwiki-users] Eliminating vspace ?

Hi, I'm trying to eliminate

from my pages.  How do I do that?

I found:
http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/RemovingHTMLStyles
and see that
.vspace is in the pmwiki section.

I put:
$HTMLStylesFmt['pmwiki']="";
in my config.php file, but it's not helping.  Hmm.
Also, does it matter where I put it in config.php?  I put it up near the 
very top.

I have a rather recent PmWiki2 installed.

What should I do?
