  No, I think it allows you to make a trail page, say
Trail.A that does not have any real pages listed on it.  The
only thing that would be on Trail.A would be a (:pagelist:)
directive.  But Trail.A is then useable as a trail page, it
can be included in the pages on the trail (maybe in a
groupheader) like this: <<|[[Taill.A]]|>>.

  From what I gather, you can also directly crete the trail
in the groupheader like this: <<|(:pagelist ...:)|>>.
