I am delighted to announce that this is available from
http://www.wikipublisher.org/wiki/index.php?n=Wikipublisher.InstallTheServer
Finally!

Please read the installation instructions carefully.
You may like to create a pdf of the page and print it.

The server takes a wikibook xml input and returns
a typeset pdf output. The wikibook dtd is designed
to support print documents. Used with PmWiki and
the PublishPDF library available from
http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Cookbook/PublishPDF
PmWiki becomes a browser-based single-source
publishing system.

Please note: to install and configure the server
software, you will need a fair bit of Unix or Linux
technical knowledge (more than you need to install
and configure PmWiki). Donald Gordon, the developer
who did the server-side work, will answer questions.

Early adopters may encounter a few challenges
getting it to work. Some persistence, patience
and forbearance may be needed.

Comments, questions and suggestions welcome as always.
The InstallTheServer page includes a (currently empty)
link to "Installation Experiences". Please use this to
give constructive feedback.

"Persistence is the hard work you do after you get
tired of the hard work you have already done."
