Yes, it's a feature for PmWiki -- the endings become part of the
link text.

If you really need the ending to not be part of the link, you can do

    AABBCCDD[[zzxxyy]]''''ZZYYDDNN

which I admit is a bit of a kludge.  It used to be that one could do

    AABBCCDD[[zzxxyy]][==]ZZYYDDNN

but that won't currently work in utf-8; it'll still be treated as
part of the link text.  I may see about fixing that somehow so
that it works again...
