A note about this recipe:
We are considering reverting to the comments.php recipe because every time a
search engine's robot touches a page, it creates or increments the .comment
version of the page and the mailpost reports that a comment has been posted.
-----------------------------------------------

I developed the commentsmailed variant, and I've been bothered by the same problem, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find a way to limit the email from being generated based on an edit rather than a page view. For that matter, I couldn't figure out how to get the list of Recent Comments to sort with the most recent at the top (like the Recent Changes page). These are a few of many reasons that I've been hoping to see a comments feature integrated into the base PmWiki, but after waiting for about a year I've come to the conclusion that it just isn't a high enough priority to make it into the core.
