Well, you were right. After installing "php4-gd2", "libgd2" and
"libdg-gif-tools" (I guess, one of them would have been enough -- I
just didn't know, which one ;-) I didn't restart my webserver. After
doing that everything worked fine!

It looks great at pmwiki.org. Just one last question: Have you
uploaded the new version of chess.zip already? If so, it seems I have
yet another problem, because the old syntax is working but the new
(:chessbord:) syntax is not. But this will have to wait till the
weekend.
