while we are in the sandbox, this may be related:
try this (keep the space before the %block

 %block  bgcolor=#dfd border='1px solid black' padding=5px% [= a block =]

why does this block uses 100% width for the container box?
It is not possible to force a smaller width with a width=... inside.
It woulde nice if the block adjusts to the longest line, or accept
width declarations.

Just a minor niggle since these boxes disappear under a floating right
column (not the text, if th elines a re short enough, just the container box)
