thank you very much for the link to swish-e.
I will give it a try. Most of my attachments are
PDF, MS doc or djvu files (djvu is high compression bit-map format to
store scaned documents. Also support OCR character recognition).

Having Pmwiki markup for such searches would be
EXCELLENT. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with PHP and cannot do it myself.

In my humble opinion, search functionality will be an important
differentiation factor that determined popularity of various Wiki
implementations.
