FWIW... I was asking about spell checkers before and got pointed to "SpellBound" http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/ and it embeds in the browser and checks any edit window in the browser.
Ease,Simple, direct, and consistent across applications.   Have to use FireFox though.  Darn the luck <G>

Try it.. it works.

I was a tiny bit concerned when the Source forge listing on this spell checker seemed a little sparse on information.

Ok folks, I'm going to throw this to the crowd and see if anyone is man 
enough to step up to the plate and try to write a cookbook to use it.
