Thanks this works great. I'm using this now and will switch to using 
<!--file:--> once I upgrade to 2.0.devel22.

Thanks again. I'll try this out to play with things, but it sounds like 
someone's already porting over the gallery for 2.0 so I might wait for 
that. Thanks everyone for the quick responses.
