[Pmwiki-users] Highlighting <?php?

While talking about highlight_file() lately I thought it might be a nice
idea to be able to highlight inline PHP code in the wiki. To do so we
could use highlight_string(), but as usual we need the markup to mark
those.

My first idea was to extend [= =] perhaps to [=php =] or [php= =]. I'd
prefer the first as it would look like the "official" <?php ?>.

Another idea would be to use the <?php ?> as highlight-markup.

Any thoughts on this?

PS: Yes, I know of Cookbook/Beautifier, but I don't like that it indents
the program differently (just read this, does it do so and can this be
disabled?) and it's bloat if you just want to enable PHP highlighting :)
