Hmm, I rather like the way the functionality is accessed from PHP, which
reflects the spatial structure nicely, but I see a few accessibility/
usability problems with the actual HTML in its current form.
* Blind readers will curse the layout. Common screenreaders will walk
them through no less than three tables (announcing rows and columns
along the way) plus any webmenu along the left before they get to
the actual content (I'm assuming here that the header information
has already been minimized). Especially because the tables seem to
be generated even when all but one cell is blank.
* The tables can only be controlled by CSS, not in HTML. First of all,
that means that the layout may look rather odd when you have a browser
that doesn't use CSS (or can't use it), such as links or w3m. Second,
table cells may appear broader or narrower depending on content when
there is no explicit width provided (which happens, again, if CSS
is ignored), meaning that the location of the content jumps around
from page to page.
This is not meant to distract from the overall concept, which I rather
like. But in an ideal world there would be a way to address the above
issues, too.
