[Pmwiki-users] An idea about white space and implementation

Hi

This is just a thought I got while writing something else... it is
strictly from an implementation point of view about whitespace (WS):

Maybe the implementation would be simplified by replacing any WS
with a single space very early in the substitution process?

Then Cookbooks etc could use simpler reg-exps, and bugs because
you forgot to handle WS properly would vanish.

The drawback that I can see is that there will be a special case when
there is WS at the beginning of a line and <pre> will be output and
the WS should be kept verbatim. I don't know if much a problem this is
though.

Anyway, just a thought...

/Christian
