On the positive side, they'll look "HTML-ish" for people used to HTML.

I don't think we should remove them, so adding a differnt sounds better to
me.

Speaking of syntax (and unfortunately I haven't had time to actually read 
up on the new template system yet), but how many "languages" are there 
currently?
* Page source, i.e. PmWiki markup
* HTML (at least since that's what's being produced) + CSS files
* The special directives in the template files

Oh, and just so I don't forget it... I take it we can place CSS directives 
in the template file using <style>..</style>?
