Sorry, maybe this is another old question that's already been answered.

Why the decision to make files names "MyGroup.MyPage" rather than allowing spaces, like "My Group.My Page".

Besides the obvious I mean (somebody could have "MyGroup.myPage", "myGroup.Mypage", and "My Group.My Page" and there might be some confusion).
