Can we introduce something less obtrusive than [[<<]], such as [] for example?
some things we know we know,[]
some things we know we don't know
One of the things I do is copy emails into wiki pages, and currently any single returns get nicely wrapped on display. So I see the current behaviour as a good thing. But I also agree that we need a way to avoid [[<<]] if possible.
I lean towards:
   [\
some things we know we know,
some things we know we don't know
   \]
and/or:
some things we know we know,[]
some things we know we don't know
both producing:
some things we know we know,
some things we know we don't know
with:
some things we know we know,
some things we know we don't know
producing:
some things we know we know, some things we know we don't know

Actually, it occurs in more than just poetry--I've run into several
situations with it. For example, the PmWiki.QuickLinks box also has
the same problem--it has to specify a bunch of [[<<]] in order to
get each of the entries to appear on different lines. Others are
running into similar problems when they want to create a list of
links in a side panel on a page somewhere but not use a bullet list
or definition list.
