Page locking is really hard to handle in a system which is not transaction
based. An easy think could be a warning that someone else has started
editing a page withing the recent 10 Minutes. Or a warning that someone
else has an open editing session. It could even go that far, that PmWiki
checks, if the page was changed since the beginning of the editing session.

*but* this requires, that editing sessions are always started from PmWiki.
Somtimes the editing session is started from the local cache ...

And this "someone else" can have a name if we have "Track Authorship".
So IMHO "Track Authorship" is much more than a nice to have feature. It
also allows to track problems of Edting confilicts (which occur rather
seldom).
And if they do, a -non sleeping author- recognizes it immediately, can have
a look to the Page Revisions and fix it.

But we should not lock. What if one
starts editing a page and then turn off the computer? This also happens very
likely.
