I'm using the latest version of the Apache web server on a computer
running Fedora Linux 6. In order to protect directory trees in my
wiki, I've added lines like<br>

<Directory /var/www/html/cisc135><br>
AuthType Digest<br>
AuthName "CISC135"<br>
AuthUserFile /etc/httpd/htpasswd/cisc135<br>
Require valid-user<br>
</Directory><br>
<br>
to my httpd.conf file. I've created the password files and everything
works fine with Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and IE 7. With IE 6, my
students can log into the root of the directory tree. However, they
cannot get even one level down. For example, if I have a link [[Java]]
in my first page, clicking on it gives the error message<br>
<br>
HTTP 400 - The page cannot be found/.<br>
<br>
Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
