Hi,

I am trying to use Vietnamese with PmWiki and almost got there.
Please help to point out what I did wrong in this procedure

I put PmWiKi on a (linux) web hosting account, PHP 4.3.11

* I created PmWiKiVi.XLPage (taken from the template)

### character encoding, e.g. 'iso-8859-2' or 'utf-8'
'xlpage-i18n' => 'utf-8'
### locale identifier, e.g. 'de' or 'cs_CZ.ISO-8859-2'
'Locale' => 'vi',
.... and the rest .... with some Vietnamese translation for testing purpose

* In local/config.php, I insert these lines near the top of the file

include_once('scripts/xlpage-utf-8.php');
XLPage('vi','PmWikiVi.XLPage');

Results: the browser switch to UTF-8 automatically. I can edit in Vietnamese fine. The only things doesn't show up is the translated strings like 'View', 'Edit', 'Histoy', 'Print' .....

Questions:

* There are 2 versions of xlpage-utf-8.php, one included in the package and one
from http://www.pmichaud.com/pub/pmwiki/i18n.tgz. Which one is the correct one ?

* I know that regular ASCII text file and UTF-8 text file is a bit different. I use Unipad editor on Windows to edit PmWiKiVi.XLPage before upload to the server. Is there any thing I need to watch out for when editing these UTF-8 files.

* My PmWiKiVi.XLPage is different from the same named file extracted from http://www.pmichaud.com/pub/pmwiki/i18n.tgz, with the later file has a bunch of additional text lines. How come ?

NT
