to add to what Dieter wrote:
there is a section about migrating your wiki to be PHP 5.5 compatible
on the Troubleshooting page here:

There it is explained how to diagnose which functions of which recipe
scripts are causing the problems.

There is also a list of which recipes are already made PHP 5.5
compatible:

(this is not necessarily comprehensive though)
